Moon Drop has Landed!

She has finally arrived! This Collection has been something on my mind for some time and I am so glad it has come to fruition in such a beautiful way. The process of inspiration and design is something i love to explore and love to read about how others explore this process, so this months blog is all about the meaning and exploration of design for the Moon Drop Collection.

I have always been fascinated by the Moon and it’s cycles. From its influence on the tides, to growing plants (see any Farmer’s Almanac), to how the energies affect our daily lives. This practice i have been exploring along with a group of friends who i share my learnings with. For over a year we have been following the Moon Cycles each new and full moon and tapping into intention setting at the New Moon and releasing at the Full Moon. It has been a great way to connect regularly and support each other to grow and evolve in new ways.

This year I have stepped up that study and have been diving deep into Astrology with a Mystic Astrologer Apprenticeship. It has been such a ride and as it is coming to an end as i post this blog, it has been such an exploration of learning and tapping into my intuition and i love that this piece is a symbol of this time of my life.

The Moon Drop has been in the back of my mind this year as I have been exploring this topic. I wanted to create a piece that symbolised the journey of learning and how much influence the planets can have in our lives.

The Moon symbolises the starting off point of my learning and it being the influential mother who is guiding us in our everyday lives, making us change and evolve. The Moon in Astrology is a feminine energy representing our emotions and feelings. Silver is always associated with the moon and the feminine so I love that connection to my material of choice.

There is a saying related to Astrology ‘as above, so below’ and this is in reference to what is happening with the planets above us have an impact on us on earth. The grounding Drop part of this design is about that ‘so below’ aspect and how we are impacted by the planets. The Drop is also a symbol of grounding and securing our energy to the earth to help support us and hold us as we ride the tides of these planetary influences.

Choosing to integrate crystals/stones in the collection was also of high importance. The first stone i chose to use is my favourite: Amazonite. This stone is all about Calm and Hope which has been something that has helped guide me through the 6 months of this course. I look forward to exploring this collection with more stones and see how its meaning can evolve and change.

The process of creating the elements in this collection was one of continual trial and error, with lots of small sketches in the margins of my daily lists to full sessions of mapping out all the elements i wanted to include and how they relate to each other.

When designing and creating jewellery, there are so many factors that need to be considered and it’s a balancing act of concept, aesthetics, construction and wearability. The textures chosen in this collection accentuate the moon theme and let the colour of the stone pop. All specifically chosen to bounce off and enhance each other.

If you would love to see the progress of the creation of the first Pendant in this Collection, check out our Reel on Instagram here.

I have loved the journey of this collection and look forward to seeing how it evolves. If you need one of these pieces in your life be sure to grab them quick as each stone has a limited quantity.

Colour and meaning: Stones of the ASC collection

It is said that the crystals or stones that you are drawn to are the ones that you need right now. Here at A Silver Circle we completely agree. So many times has Corinne been drawn to certain stones without knowing what they are or what to do with them. Sometimes they can stay in the studio for a while before their purpose is clear. The studio is also fun of crystal pieces scattered around bringing lots of good vibes into the studio.

So this blog post is a revamp of a previous post which delved into the meaning of the stones
within our collection. However so much has changed since then, with so many new pieces and energies so we are bringing it back new and improved! With references to their colour, spiritual connection, energy and styling suggestions we have brought lots of info so you can choose the next piece for you.

An Exotic Journey with the Islamic Collection

The Islamic collection takes you on a journey to an exotic place through intricate designs and vibrant colours. However, the collection itself has also been on a journey of experimentation and finding balance in ergonomics, shape and design. Corinne has always loved Islamic architecture, in particular the curves of the archways and the ornamental details which complement each other ceremoniously to create stunning architecture. From mixing different decorative elements, patterns and forms, the Islamic Collection has evolved many times to what it is today.

The Islamic Stone Pendant designs have matured the most. From originally featuring a top archway design to coming full circle to become the enclosed tear drop centred frame, it is today. Whilst the half frame mimicked the Islamic archways more closely, the precious stone could not be suspended as gracefully as Corinne had envisioned it. So extensions to the arch top was added to create structure around the sides. This structure led to a full Recycled Sterling Silver base which could completely encircle and support the revolving stone.

Corinne didn’t just want to draw on Islamic architecture for this collection, but also add a Native American tribal feel to her pieces. This is where the embellished patterns of crescent moons, arrows and dots shine. The design underwent many changes, as Corinne experimented with geometric shapes to create beautiful patterns. It was important to ensure that the detailed patterning, structure and stone harmoniously complimented each other to achieve balance. This mixture of cultural inspiration added an unexpected element to the collection, creating a boho vibe and gypsy style.

The Islamic Studs and the Islamic Small Pendant are the perfect pieces to add a delicate touch for a subtle and elegant look. Or layered with other pieces in this collection to draw attention and add interest to any look.

In this collection you will find 2 semi-precious stones featured. The turquoise stone was chosen to compliment the Native American Indian aesthetic and highlight the geometric shapes and lines. As well as provide protection and healing powers. Whilst the Amethyst stone emanates a softer, warm atmosphere to bring balance to the collection and provide its own unique healing qualities, especially for physical and emotional ailments.

The Islamic Stone Earrings and the Islamic Stone Pendants are the perfect statement pieces to bring a bohemian feel to any look. We love layering the Stone Earrings and the Stone Pendants with the Islamic Small Pendant to create an effortlessly elegant look.

We have loved taking this exotic journey and exploring different patterns and elements from around the world in this collection. We would love to see you embrace your inner gypsy and style these multi cultured pieces in your own way. Tag @asilvercircle on Instagram, wearing these unique jewels!

All things Gemstones

Gemstones are natural treasures that are celebrated for their rich colours, intriguing patterns, and mineral properties which are believed to improve aspects of the body and mind. When used in jewellery the effect is alluring. The natural vibrancy and form of the stones elevate the look and feel of each piece, making the collection of A Silver Circle’s gemstone jewellery so gorgeous.

Green Phantom Quartz

The Green Phantom Quartz is considered a facilitator of self growth and healing. The stone is said to assist in detoxification and removing unwanted energy from the body. The Green Phantom Quartz is visually intricate as it forms through other minerals and leaves a ghost-like illusion where the green mineral is floating within a clear crystal. The Green Phantom Quartz Stone Drop Necklace emphasises the mystic feel of the stone created by the natural colour and form.

Amethyst

The Amethyst crystal is a variety of quartz that is well known for its elegant purple shade that varies in tone, from a deep violet to light lavender. It is used for healing, purifying the mind and clearing negative thoughts, therefore many people meditate with this stone to eradicate feelings of stress and anxiety. The Amethyst Stone Drop Necklace allows for a full appreciation of this stone and its natural beauty. The long, delicate sterling silver chain complements the Amethyst and allows the colour to pop.

Amazonite

Amazonite is known as the stone of hope, promising to soothe the spirit and calm the soul while also encouraging freedom of expression and empowerment. A calming and soothing energy radiates from this stone that benefits the wearer. The colours of the stone are radiant, with shades of turquoise and green running throughout that reflect the colours of the Amazon River. The Amazonite Ring beautifully highlights this, as the stone is set inside a sterling silver bezel that accentuates the shape and natural vibrancy of the stone.

Citrine

Citrine is know as the ‘light maker’ as it emanates positivity and joy. The colour of the stone ranges from yellow to light brown shades as a result of the intense heat it is exposed to. Its properties are linked with wealth and abundance and is also said to activate the imagination and allow for the flow of ideas and creativity. The Stone Bar Necklace highlights the variation of colour in Citrine due to the different shapes a cut of stones used in the necklace.

Red Carnelian

The warm, vibrant tones of the Red Carnelian stone is said to boost confidence and the power of expression. Brown, orange and red hues form in specks and bands within the stone. This crystal’s properties are associated with taking bold action and can activate energy in the wearer’s core to inspire and motivate them. The Red Carnelian Stone Bar Necklace is a very stylish way to reap the benefits of this stone.

Freshwater Pearl

Freshwater Pearl is formed in molluscs as a result of a build-up of sand and other foreign material that finds its way into the shell. This is why it is considered the stone of nurturing and nourishment particularly in regards to faith, loyalty, integrity and purity. It draws a strong connection to feminine energy and can help women connect with their ‘inner goddess’. The soft pink tone of the Freshwater Pearl is effortlessly accentuated through the silver chain used in the Stone Bar Necklace, creating an elegant look and feel.

Aquamarine

The pale blue Aquamarine is the stone of enlightenment, spiritual and emotional awareness. It is connected to the moon and water, with the blue colour indicative of its power to awaken spirituality and emotional intelligence. Additionally, Aquamarine is thought to improve relationships and have the ability to sooth and calm the wearer and those around them. The Aquamarine Stone Bar Necklace is reminiscent of these qualities and brings a cool, relaxed feel to any outfit.

Red Agate

Red Agate is the stone of protection which shields the wearer from negative energies and promotes feelings of calmness and relaxation. It has stabilising and strengthening qualities that are reflected in the layers of colour within the stone. The striking red is accompanied by shades of orange and white, while also being translucent in parts which captures the light beautifully, as seen in the Red Agate Stone Drop Necklace.

How to Style our Gemstones

The Stone Drop Necklaces look amazing layered with the Stone Bar Necklaces. We love styling them together as there are so many colours and shapes to experiment with. Layering these pieces with the Curved Bar Necklaces complete the look perfectly as they add an extra textual element that emphasises the colours of the stones. Each stone has a unique quality that will create a different feel when paired in a certain way.

Pair warmer toned stones such as Citrine, Red Agate, Red Carnelian and Freshwater Pearl together for a bold look. Cooler toned stones such as Amethyst, Amazonite, Green Phantom Quartz and Aquamarine can be paired for a more relaxed feel. Our favourite combo at the moment is the Amethyst Drop Necklace and the Aquamarine Stone Bar Necklace, along with our new Amazonite Ring to embrace the soothing qualities each stone.
