Winter Styling

Here in the Southern Highlands, Winter can be a bit frosty and most of the time my focus is on just staying warm, that I don’t play around with styling my jewellery as much as I would in other seasons.

So it is time to change that! I am bringing you all along for the ride as we restyle for Winter!

Let’s get into it!

EARRINGS

Maya Fan Earrings.
Wear a feature earring with your favourite coat and your hair flowing!

Our new Moon Earrings and Pendant a perfect feature for a casual knit look.

PENDANTS

I wear so many more solid colours in winter so long necklaces are a great way to add more interest. My go to is the Geometric Pendant in Circle

Layering necklaces are a great way to add interest and fun while having high necks and coats.
Here I have mixed the Abundance Pendant, Small Textured Pendant and Moon Pendant

HAIR PIN

I am obsessed with this Small 2 Piece Hair Pin and use it so many more ways in Winter. It looks great with hair half up (above) as well as a brooch though knits (below).

RINGS

Some of our staple layering pieces and some new additions great to wear under gloves in Winter without getting caught up. From left: Fused Ring, Lace Ring, and stacked: Thin Hammered Ring Band, Abundance Ring, Twisted Ring, Hammered Ring.

BANGLES, BRACELETS & CUFFS

A simple stack of layering Bangles can give you a little feel of movement when wearing lots of layers. Here we have the Pentagon Bangle, Lace Bangle and Spiral Bangle along with the Hexagon Ring and ring stack with Twisted Ring, Fused Ring and Hammered Ring.

Such a gorgeous mix of everything here. I love this with a feature coat or rolled cuff jumper to really add some shine. Here we have from left: Daisy Bangle, Pentagon Bangle, Ziggy Cuff, Spiral Bangle, Focus Bracelet and Lace Bangle.

Thanks for coming along as I share with you new ways I am playing with styling some key jewellery pieces this Winter. I would love to hear how you love to style your jewellery through the winter season, so please let me know via email or Instagram (asilvercircledesign@gmail.com or @asilvercircle)

Colour and meaning: Stones of the ASC collection

It is said that the crystals or stones that you are drawn to are the ones that you need right now. Here at A Silver Circle we completely agree. So many times has Corinne been drawn to certain stones without knowing what they are or what to do with them. Sometimes they can stay in the studio for a while before their purpose is clear. The studio is also fun of crystal pieces scattered around bringing lots of good vibes into the studio.

So this blog post is a revamp of a previous post which delved into the meaning of the stones
within our collection. However so much has changed since then, with so many new pieces and energies so we are bringing it back new and improved! With references to their colour, spiritual connection, energy and styling suggestions we have brought lots of info so you can choose the next piece for you.

AMETHYST
The beautiful purple tones of Amethyst is a staple addition to our collection here at ASC. Corinne continues to be inspired by this gorgeous stone as seen in both the Islamic Stone Earrings and Pendant through to the Raw Amethyst Drop Earrings and Pendant. These statement pieces are great additions to your eclectic colourful wardrobe.

AMAZONITE

Calm and serenity is evoked in this stone. Mimicking the clear turquoise ocean, this stone reminds us to go with the flow, take a deep breath and release tension in our body. The Amazonite Ring has been a staple favourite in our collection since its arrival and we love to layer it with the Twisted Ring. Wear this colour in the Calm Earrings and Pendant to add a bright pop of colour to any outfit.

BLACK TOURMALINE
This stone has such a strong protective energy. As with most black coloured stones, the Black Tourmaline is great to block negative energy and protect you from any psychic attacks. This bold look in the Black Tourmaline Drop Earrings and Pendant is perfect for a night out on the town. The Protection Earring and Pendant are the perfect addition to your everyday pieces.

CITRINE
This stone is all about abundance! Used to channel success, joy, creativity, and self-confidence. Our Abundance Earrings and Abundance Pendant combine the Hamsa symbol with Citrine to channel all this positive energy. The gorgeous warm tones of yellow in this stone will pop when styled with some solid strong colours of Navy, Black and Brown for a bold look to go out and attract that Abundance!

LABRADORITE
Perhaps you are a fan of the enigmatic Labradorite stone? With the unique blue or green shine within this stone, we are constantly seeing different perspectives. This quality links so well to the way this stone symbolises transformation, and channel strength in order to persevere through hardships with self-belief and faith in the powers of the universe. We feature this stone in the Transformation earrings and Transformation pendant with the added symbol of the Scarab Beetle for the extra transformative energy.

RHODONITE
Rhodonite is considered the healing stone for relationships that encourages clear communication and union. Our Rhodonite Rings warm pink and brown-red tones make it an easy addition to your collection. Style this piece layered with the Moonstone Ring (below) and pair with your favourite outfit of neutrals.

MOONSTONE
Bring stability and serenity into your life through a moonstone! This soft coloured stone is translucent to milky white with bright blue iridescence. The Moonstone Ring is the perfect addition to your office attire or day to day wear as it enhances intuition, promotes inspiration, success and good fortune in love and business matters.

ROSE QUARTZ
Look pretty in pink with the rose quartz stone! It has quite a romantic meaning to it as well, symbolising unconditional love free from prejudice. The new Rose Quartz Drop Necklace and Earrings are a perfect addition to a beautiful flowing skirt and white top. Tap into your romantic side with this beautiful stone.

CALCITE
Blue calcite is a stone for healing and the stimulation of inspiration and clairvoyance, so it is perfect for those creative minds out there! It is featured in the Calcite Drop Earrings and Calcite Drop Necklace, so you can add a soft wash of colour to any look with these pieces! We think it would look extra special paired with a long patterned dress for that Bohemian feel.

RED AGATE
Featured in the Blue Lotus collection, Red Agate is often used to restore balance and harmony to the body, mind, and spirit. The lively red of this stone compliments the intensity of the blues in the Long Earrings and Pendant, making it a wearable statement piece styled with loose white blouse and dark washed jeans for that effortlessly chic look!

BLUE HOWLITE
The Blue Howlite will assist you in achieving all of your dreams. This is another stone featured in the Blue Lotus collection, in tandem with Red Agate and Lapis Lazuli. Featuring a bright milky blue, this stone great to reduce anxiety, tensions, stress and anger, it is gentle, soothing and calms the energy around you.

LAPIS LAZULI

Lapis Lazuli is a stone of protection that quickly releases stress, bringing deep peace. It brings harmony and deep inner self-knowledge, encourages self-awareness, allows self-expression and reveals inner truth. Featured in the Blue Lotus Short Drop Earrings, and the Lapis Lazuli Ring, bring this rich blues into your life. Feel your inner Egyptian goddess in these pieces as you embody this powerful energy.

TURQUOISE

Embrace you inner bohemian with the cool tones of Turquoise. Featured in the Islamic Stone Pendant and Earrings, the Turquoise stone brings luck and protection. Wear with a gorgeous navy jumpsuit for your next outing or weekend getaway.

Inside the Jewellery Box

Hi Everyone! Corinne here writing directly to you in this blog post. As the owner, designer and maker here at A Silver Circle, one of the most frequent questions I get asked is, ‘You must have so much jewellery?!’ and the answer us always, ’no, not really’. As much as I love all of the pieces I make, I do not own all of them. So, today I am going to run you through what my jewellery collection looks like and how I go about selecting my jewellery for the day.

My jewellery collection is stored on a shelf surrounded by beautiful smelling body oil, cute travel ornaments which also double as earring stands and my go to hair accessories. I love having an inspiring little corner to find my favourite additions to any outfit.

My jewellery collection is made up of two types of jewellery pieces: Collection pieces and Samples/One of a Kind pieces. So they are separated into sections. Lets dive in!

COLLECTION PIECES

The below pieces are all from the current ASC collection.

RINGS

These are my constant companion. I rarely change them and don’t take them off so rings are the pieces that need to survive my lifestyle and go with everything i own.

Silver Hexagon Ring – I wear this ring on the ring finger on my right hand. It is the perfect one for this finger as it is a statement piece that is super light and easy to wear for all parts of my life. I once decided to switch it out but it made its return pretty quickly! It hasn’t left since then.

Circle Ring with Domes – This is the second one I have owned in this style. The first one was gifted to my beautiful friend Iris, as she was leaving to move back to her home town of Toronto, Canada. Easy to wear yet a statement piece, i move this one around a few fingers depending on mood.

Amazonite Ring – I have not taken off this ring since I first made it! I am actually still wearing the initial prototype for this piece and I absolutely love love love it! it is great to layer with my Twisted Ring and Hammered Ring, but can also work as a stand-alone piece. The calming energy of the stone is a great reminder to let things go, and an added bonus is that the colour compliments everything in my wardrobe!

PENDANTS

With pendants, i do swap them out, though i will usually have a staple piece for a few days that is shorter and then change it up with or without the addition of long chains.

Nava Deco Pendant – This piece was one that took me a long time to hone in on the design of. I had it floating around in my head and just couldn’t quite figure it out. Finally, it came into being and it has been a staple piece for me ever since. I adore the way it captures the light and has a nice movement to it. It is perfect framed when I wear my longer necklaces!

Islamic Stone Pendant – Simply put, I love this piece! I have a lot of shades of navy, turquoise, and purple in my wardrobe so the Turquoise stone always matches with my outfits. It also helps to soothe my ever-fidgeting hands to have something to play with as I rotate the stone around.

Ladder Pendant – This one is a bit of fun, and I wear it whenever I am feeling a little quirky! I love seeing people’s reactions when they realise what it is. It is so simple in its lines, yet still makes a statement with how much it pops against a solid colour top, such us with navy, teal, and maroon colours.

EARRINGS

Earrings are my go to piece to make an outfit. They can be the feature and these 3 are my go to pieces to make the outfit pop.

Maya Fan Earrings – This is from one of my more recent collections. Since its inception, I have been grabbing these as the ‘go with everything’ piece whenever I want an effortlessly stylish look. They are lightweight yet statement size and are great for day and night, so I don’t need to change when going to dinner from a day in the studio.

Islamic Stone Earrings – This is the only matching set I own. Personally, I have never been big on matching jewellery, but I adore this set with the Islamic Stone Pendant. I alternate between wearing them separately and together. This collection was created from my love to travel and architecture, and I am transported back to those places every time I wear them.

Geometric Earrings – I own the Hexagon shape of these, which match my ring from the same collection. I have had these for so so many years and they are still a go to favourite of mine. I love the sound they make! It is like having light, delicate wind chimes on my ears (not annoyingly so – trust me!). These are always a best seller and I am a big advocate as to why.

HAIR PIN

Small 2 Piece Hair Pin – I originally made the hair pins to tame my waist length locks and I didn’t realise how much I would love them at the time. I have this piece in both the Diamond and Teardrop shapes. This is a rarity for me to have more than one variation of an item. They are perfect for that half up, half down hairstyle when I want to get my hair out of my face.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS: I couldn’t put everything in, but I will mention a couple of other go to’s are the Teardrop Pendant with Figure (Reading Girl figure – she is me!), Blue Lotus Short Earrings, and the Textured Medium Ring (perfect in a ring stack).

SAMPLES AND ONE OF A KIND

Not many people realise what each collection piece goes through before they are put into production. I am always making samples or prototypes of my ideas once they have made it to the final design process. I will then wear each piece to test it for at least 2 weeks constantly to see if there are any practical issues.

Rose Quartz Heart Pendant – After having a particularly hard couple of weeks, I felt called to create a pendant with the Heart Chakra and healing in mind. When I got to the studio, I found this beautiful Rose Quartz (good for healing!) and the creation just flowed. This would usually take me a day or two to create and I finished it in 3 hours! It was truly meant to be.

African Blackwood Chain Earrings – I was gifted some rare pieces of African Blackwood from a friend and I knew I wanted to make something out of them, just like the above piece, it just flowed. These are a more statement piece that I love to wear with lots of colour. The chain movement is a lot of fun too.

Maya Oval Earring Sample – This just didn’t quite work for the collection, but as I do not own the collection version, this is a great go-to piece instead. The size and pattern were changed as the proportion wasn’t quite right for the collection. They are still super cute and go with everything.

Overall, it is so interesting how these pieces can become such a big part of our lives. I use my jewellery to express to the world who I am and what I love. Through colour and form, it is referring to where I have been and where I want to be.

I hope you all have enjoyed a little delve into my jewellery collection. I would love to hear your stories of how your ASC piece has become a part of your life. Share via our socials or via email asilvercircledesign@gmail.com.
